Thursday, June 6th No Sea Turtle Action, but snake on the beach

The day stated with pouring rain and lightning, so the Thursday Volunteers went to breakfast and came back when the worst of the storm had passed.  We walked the beach due to the high tide.  All nests were fine, and no new sea turtle visits were discovered, that we could tell.

The storm clouds and rain moving toward North Carolina

Lorna and Avery walked the long end and did see a snake on  the beach.  I am not a snake expert, I believe it is a Gray Rat Snake, a non-venomous snake.  They respected our visitor and left it alone.  They saw this visitor around Marker 6.

Sandy and Leslie walked the short end, and walked along the dunes on the way back to our vehicle.

Morning Glories

Nests were all high and dry

as were our PNs
