Sunday, June 9th - Guests from Connecticut joined us, no sea turtle action

Today we had guests from a Connecticut scouting organization who walked the beach this morning with the Sunday Volunteers.  It was a beautiful morning.  Our new volunteer Tammy got the chance to open the gates, and did a great job, another one trained.  We had two adult ladies and three young ladies who joined us today.  Yesterday, they came to Waties Island and attended a sea turtle class, so they were knowledgeable about our nests, and PN's before we walked this morning.  Volunteers Tammy and Karen walked the short-end, Leslie and guests walked the long end, and were joined by Tammy and Karen.

Unfortunately, we had no new sea turtle action today, but had an enjoyable walk up the beach and walked back with a nice breeze to help us cool down.  We picked up a good bit of trash, especially sunglasses, googles and the normal food wrappers.

Hoping this coming week our Volunteers get some sea turtle action.
