Monday, June 10 - False crawl #07 and rain

Beautiful cool start to the morning.  The walk over the dunes to the beach was a smooth one.  Sand had been patted down from the rain the night before.

The ladies were quite excited to find this crawl, which did not start down at the waters edge.  She came up at high tide so it was much higher up on the beach. Unfortunately she came right up went over a small hump and just turned around.  Could be the approaching storm chased her away.

Her crawl measured either 34 or 36” hard to tell due to rain, and she made no attempt to nest.

All indications early this  morning said no rain till later. Ha ha!  We were at M7 when I took this photo.
We thought we would beat it, but you could feel the change in the air.  Then the sprinkles started,  it actually felt good walking back. As we got to the truck it rain got heavier,  Donna, Jewel, and Bonnie got pretty wet. This is Bonnie’s first year and I thought she might be upset. She said “ heck no, what an experience, sitting in the back of a truck during a rain storm.”
We were very fortunate, the heavy downpour did not start till we were all in our vehicles leaving.
